Made With Joy: 2015

4 days away!

Just like that another week has FLOWN by!

I'm finding it really hard to believe it's already the end of the month! Puces Pop is only days away!!

That said, today I baked hundreds of cookies to sell at my table alongside my sewn goods. I'm looking forward to giving them all a beautiful coat of icing.

In keeping with my schedule, I also tagged all my cushions and finished sewing up the last of the pouches.

Birthday Vibes.

Collection of birthday flowers.

This weekend I celebrated my birthday in the company of all my friends. I gifted myself a brand new BBQ and hosted a wonderful picnic in the park. I especially enjoyed taking a break from what has been non-stop work on all ends.

However, this didn't mean I stopped entirely... On Saturday I collected some throw-away crates from the market and today I stained them. I'll be using them to display my products at Puces Pop in 2 weeks.

Burn baby burn.

Cry-Babies!

Last night I bowed out of springtime moonlit antics, for burning my new screens for the coin purses and pouches soon to be added to my collection. Thus far, I have printed my first run of the Cry-Baby clutch. I'm really excited with how it came out and look forward to sharing the final result with all of you.

It's official.

It's official! I will be setting up shop at Puces Pop's Spring Fair.

From May 29th through to the 31st, you will find me and a table stacked with my joyous little creations. Mark your calendars as I will have a little something for everyone & every budget!

In the meanwhile (and over the course of the next few weeks), I'll be teasing you with what's to come...

Twin Cards.

This weekend I had the pleasure of spending time with some dear friends out in Toronto... Two of which just turned THIRTY!

In celebration of this milestone, I came bearing a set of twin cards and other goodies. Now that they've been opened and read, I think it's fair they be shared.

Lulu perfectly posed next to Joel's gift! What a cutiepatootie :-)

Card for Meg!

It's Aries season and as such, one of my dear friend's back in Winnipeg celebrated another glorious year of life. To mark the occasion, I sent her the card below. HBD Meg!

The future is now.

I walked home in tears from Casa Clark all the way back to my lady lair. My wife has officially left for the Big Smoke. I suppose the writing was on the wall......

I will miss everything that went along with having my best friend live but a short walk away. No less, I'm extremely proud of her accomplishments and know that she will kick some serious ass living in Toronto. At the very least, she now has something to remind her daily of where she's been and what must be kept in mind to always move forward. All we have is today, all we have is NOW.

The future is now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now!

Wool travel pouch for Robert.

My good friend Robert is travelling to Japan for the next two weeks. When he said that he needed something to keep all his travel knick knacks together this is what I came up with. I'm pleased to say I'm happy with the result and so is he :)

The whimsical art of Matthias Jung!

Lazy Saturday! After a day of indulgence (lots of bacon, pancakes & napping...) I came across this cool artist Matthias Jung. Not only does he share the same famous name of dream specialist psychologist, Carl Jung, he makes kiss-ass, dream worthy, digital collages of whimsical homes.

In short, I'm inspired. Check him out!

SALUT LE MONDE!

In an attempt to be more digitally minded, I have started this blog to showcase all my projects/things I make/things that inspire/etc.

Below are a series of photos of my most recent project which were cushions made for a private plane.

I had the pleasure of working with the photographer's own personal collection of photographs taken around the world. I then transformed them into screens and printed them on a delicious orange sateen lambswool. After sewing them with a stark black flanged edge, I'm proud to say they came out beautifully.

I am awaiting actual photos from the plane, but in the meanwhile, my iPhone photos (which do not do these cushions justice) will have to suffice.
